About Me
Hi! I am a Software Developer living in Porto, Portugal. I specialize in developing backend systems using the Elixir programming language. My interests include concurrency, high-load systems, and leveraging Elixir's clustering capabilities to efficiently manage them.
I don't stop at the code, either. I like owning what happens after the merge: packaging services with Docker, running them on Kubernetes, setting up the CI/CD pipelines and the monitoring that tells you when something's off. Most of that has lived on AWS, where I've built infrastructure that holds up when traffic grows.

In my free time I like to surf the northern coast of Portugal ๐๐ and cook ramen ๐ for friends once in a while.
What I do
My work as a Software Developer
Currently an Elixir Software Developer at Yolo Group, processing real-time sports event updates under high load. I built a pub/sub model that reliably delivers every update to all relevant components with low latency. I also mentor a junior colleague through a structured learning plan, regular feedback and pair programming. Overall I have twelve years of experience across Web, Telephony, Automotive and Computer Vision, including Choosy, 8x8, BMW Group and RingCentral.
Working as Contractor and Consultant
At Choosy I worked as a contractor, fully responsible for the backend, including infrastructure and operations, collaborating closely with the founders on new features and growth. As a consultant I help businesses solve complex technical challenges and align their technology stack with their business goals.
ElixirConfEU
My talk focused on the practical side of resolving memory issues on the BEAM: when it copies data versus optimizing it, the unexpected effects that can arise, and the tools used to identify and debug these problems, with real-life examples.
